DIETRA WALTERS

Dietra Walters was born and raised in the South and has spent most of her life in Oklahoma, Tennessee and South Florida. She studied acting at New World School of the Arts in Miami, Fl and also at the University of Minnesota. Dietra learned how to keep up in a very busy environment as well as small town values such as learning each person's name no matter their title. Dietra was taught manners and ambition from living in small towns as well as big cities. Dietra loved acting and she seemed to have potential. Her teachers tried to convince her to continue studying and working on her craft when Dietra decided not to pursue an early career in acting.
Dietra went on to find other careers including working in restaurants and sales and working as a Licensed Massage Therapist and a Registered Nurse. She learned a lot about work and interacting with people in different scenarios. Dietra ultimately chose to have a private environment to raise her family over an acting career that could potentially land her in the spotlight. Dietra has always dreamed of acting but her life purpose has been to help people. Dietra started taking acting classes again in her 30's just so she could have a safe place to act but often turned down opportunities to do more with her acting potential. Dietra was private about these classes and she was often the only student in her classes not pursuing a profession in acting.
Throughout her years of studying alongside professional and amatuer actors, Dietra watched the other things that can create success or failure in this industry. From Dietra's prior years of work experience she realized that acting is much like any other job and if you dedicate time, effort and consistency as well as maintain professionalism, a level of success is inevitable. This fear of success kept Dietra from pursuing an acting career sooner.
In 2019, with tremendous support from her husband and children, Dietra finally decided to become public with her passion and to pursue acting as a career. While Dietra avoided becoming recognizable and had always sought privacy for her family, Dietra had also been encouraged for years that she had a natural talent that she was not using. Ultimately it was Dietra's desire to help people that gave Dietra the courage to pursue acting as a career. Whether she can inspire someone through her performance or encourage other people to pursue their passions with the same veracity that she has, Dietra's entire goal with acting is to leave a positive impact on everyone who comes in contact with her. Dietra is often cast for dramatic roles but her real passion is comedy following the old adage that "laughter truly is the best medicine."
Dietra remembers her grandmother always telling her to find her purpose and leave her mark on the world. With her children older and all of the knowlege that she has gained through her other life and work experiences, Dietra has decided to pursue acting with such a passion to make up for lost time. From Dietra's decision on Feb. 14, 2019, Dietra has already worked on many projects and has found tremendous success for such a short period of time. Dietra knows that success comes from hard work, training and consistency as well as proper networking and not just from luck or one time breaks.
